IBO Player: Install, Activate & Add Your IPTV

IBO Player is one of the most popular IPTV apps for Samsung and LG Smart TVs, and it runs on Fire TV and Android TV too. It installs from the TV's own app store, so there's no extra box or stick to buy. This guide shows how to install IBO Player, activate it with your MAC address and device key, add your IPTV subscription and fix the problems people meet most often.
Quick answer
Install IBO Player from your Samsung, LG or Android TV app store, note the MAC address and device key on screen, add your Xtream Codes login on the official IBO Player website, then restart the app. It starts with a free trial, then asks for a small one-off activation fee.
What IBO Player is
IBO Player is an IPTV player: an app that shows the live channels, films, series and TV guide of the IPTV subscription you add to it. It doesn't come with any channels of its own. Its big advantage is that it runs directly on most Smart TVs, with a clean, remote-friendly layout.
Good to know: the app and the subscription are separate. IBO Player is the screen; your IPTV provider supplies the channels, the picture quality and the support. See our guide to the best IPTV providers in the UK before you choose one.
Which devices it works on
| Device | Where to get IBO Player |
|---|---|
| Samsung Smart TV (Tizen) | Samsung Apps / Smart Hub |
| LG Smart TV (webOS) | LG Content Store |
| Android TV / Google TV | Google Play Store |
| Fire TV Stick | Amazon Appstore, or Downloader |
Older Smart TVs (roughly pre-2018) may not support it. On those, a Fire TV Stick 4K is usually the easiest upgrade — see our Firestick guide.
How to install IBO Player
Samsung: Apps. LG: LG Content Store. Android TV: Google Play.
Install the official app and open it. Check the publisher name so you don't install a copycat.
The start screen shows two codes. Take a photo of them with your phone — you need them in the next step.
Add your IPTV subscription
IBO Player doesn't ask for your login on the TV. You add your playlist through the official IBO Player website instead, using the codes on your screen:
- On your phone or computer, open the official IBO Player website and go to the playlist management page.
- Enter the MAC address and device key shown on your TV.
- Choose Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password from your welcome message (or paste your M3U link).
- Save, then restart IBO Player on the TV. Your channels, films, series and TV guide load within a minute or two.
SubscribeIPTV4K customers don't have to do this alone: send us a photo of your MAC address and device key on WhatsApp and we'll add the playlist for you.
Free trial and activation
IBO Player usually starts with a free trial period. After that, it asks for a small one-off activation fee per TV, paid on the official website. Check the current price there before you pay, and never pay a third party who claims to "activate" the app for you.
The activation covers the app only — not channels. You still need an IPTV subscription, which you can test first with our free 2-hour trial.
IBO Player problems and fixes
"No playlist" or an empty screen
The playlist hasn't reached the TV yet. Check that the MAC address and device key on the website match your screen exactly, then fully close and reopen the app.
Channels won't load
Usually a typo in the server URL, username or password. Re-enter them carefully — they're case-sensitive — or ask your provider to check that your subscription is active.
TV guide (EPG) is missing
Open the settings and refresh or reload the EPG. The guide can take a few minutes to fill after you add a playlist.
Buffering during live matches
Connect the TV with an Ethernet cable if you can, or move the router closer. Smart TV Wi-Fi chips are often weaker than a Fire TV Stick's. If it only happens at peak times, the problem is the provider's servers, not the app.
